
Communications Manager
The Communications Manager helps to market the missions, programs and accomplishments of the Victory Fund and Leadership Institute. We are seeking a smart, motivated, detail-oriented and committed team member who is passionate about LGBT issues and willing to work collaboratively to advance equality through the promotion of LGBT leadership. The Communications Manager reports to the Vice President, External Affairs.
Responsibilities
Writing—Writes and edits copy used on Web sites, e-mails and printed communications materials. (Applicants must take a standard writing test.)
Website maintenance--Ensures a high-quality user experience for Victory's websites, www.victoryfund.org, www.glli.org and www.gaypolitics.com, through the addition of new content, maintaining accuracy of current content and advising on future improvements.
E-mail marketing--Coordinates and executes delivery of all mass email marketing in consultation with the External Affairs and Development Teams. Coordinates and maintains multiple email lists in consultation with the Development Team.
Online outreach--Develops and executes aggressive social networks outreach plan in consultation with the External Affairs Team. Monitors and maintains social networks presence.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Experience and Education
• Two years related work experience required
• Demonstrated writing proficiency
• Demonstrated proficiency in appropriate software tools required
• Knowledge of and/or interest in issues related to the LGBT community
• Ability to learn and become proficient in required online applications
• Bachelor's degree
• Knowledge of and/or interest in politics
Required Skills Proficiency
• Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent written and oral communications abilities
• Dreamweaver/HTML
• Social networking sites
• Adobe Photoshop
• Web site content management systems
• Database applications
Compensation: We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience, and excellent benefits including a 401(k) plan, health insurance, paid time off and paid holidays.

We do not cover relocation expenses.
