Judge John Arrowood seeks to retain his seat on to the North Carolina Court of Appeals, after being appointed in 2007 by North Carolina Governor Mike Easley. Previously, Arrowood served as a Special Superior Court Judge in the 26th Judicial District of North Carolina. Prior to that, he was a partner with the law firm of James, McElroy & Diehl in Charlotte, where he focused on complex commercial and civil litigation in both state and federal courts for more than 17 years. He has also been a senior staff attorney and later staff director for the NC Court of Appeals. Arrowood graduated magna cum laude from Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina in 1979 and earned his Juris Doctorate in 1982 from the University of North Carolina.
