Alice Lightle was appointed to the Little Rock District Court, Place 3 by Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe in 2007. Due to a clause in the Arkansas Constitution, Alice cannot seek reelection to the seat to which she was appointed. The sitting judge has chosen to retire which has allowed Alice to position herself in the election as the only judge vying for this open seat. If elected, Alice would become the first woman ever elected to serve on the Little Rock District Court.
Alice has been a dedicated member of the Little Rock community, and that loyalty has garnered her several endorsements from prominent members of the Arkansas Bar Association.
Alice will focus her campaign on the experience that she has garnered throughout her career. She has been extremely involved in the political process in Little Rock, having served as the campaign manager for Kathy Webb, a Victory-endorsed candidate who became the first openly LGBT person elected to the Arkansas state House of Representatives in 2006. Alice also served as campaign manager for U.S. Representative Vic Snyder in his 2002 election. Lightle served as the Chief Legal Counsel for former Arkansas Governor Jim Guy Tucker.
As the only judge in the race, her experience, dedication and commitment to Arkansans should help carry Judge Lightle across the finish line. With your support today, she will be able to give her candidacy visibility during a high profile presidential election season.
