Garry has almost 20 years of hands-on work in the criminal justice system and is currently serving as a superior court commissioner. Garry has been a long-time champion for the rights and safety of children formerly serving as the supervising deputy district attorney in the child abduction unit. In 1995, Garry was named the Prosecutor of the Year by the Southern California Juvenile Officers Association and has only increased his dedication to the protection of California’s children by organizing various efforts outside of the courtroom.  Garry is currently a member of the Board of Directors for San Diego Youth and Community Services.

Garry has experience working with various LGBT political campaigns and now looks to successfully run his own. Garry has strong support from local elected officials, including former Victory-endorsed District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis and Judge David Rubin.  Along with our LGBT elected officials, Garry has been endorsed by over 95 current and former members of the San Diego Superior Court.

Garry has also garnered endorsements from various groups including the San Diego Deputy Sheriff’s Association, the Women Prosecutors of California, and the San Diego Paralegals Association, among others.
