David Pierce
has a substantial background in providing excellent leadership within his
community, having already served one term representing New Hampshire’s 9th
District in the State House of Representatives.
He now seeks a second term.
In his two
years representing his district, David has already played an active role in
LGBT affairs. He played an instrumental
role in the drafting of the civil unions bill and spoke in support of the bill
on the House floor. He also testified in
committee, spoke in support of the bill on the House floor, and lobbied the
Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee urging the Senate to pass the bill
authorizing joint adoption by LGBT couples. The New Hampshire Democratic Party David
named David Legislator of the Year in 2008, marking the first time this has
been awarded to an openly gay individual. In addition, David has actively served on the
Labor, Industrial, and Rehabilitative Services Committee and the Election Law
Committee
To ensure that David
is able to reclaim his seat in the New Hampshire legislature, he has organized
an extensive effort to reach out to his constituents. There are currently five candidates running
for the four available seats of New Hampshire’s 9th District. With

The Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund has endorsed ten new candidates seeking public office. The candidates include Rebecca Kaplan, who seeks a seat on the Oakland City Council, and Andrew Martin, who is running for the Nevada Assembly.
