Kevin Beckner has been a resident of Tampa Bay for 10 years. He received his B.A in Criminal Justice with minors in business and psychology from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where he later served as a police officer.  He is a Certified Financial Planner, as well as a Chartered Financial Consultant and a Chartered Life Underwriter.

Although this is Kevin’s first run for office, he has been active with numerous advocacy groups, such as Human Rights Campaign, Equality Florida, and the Tampa Bay Business Guild.  If he is elected, he will be the first LGBT person elected in his county.
