Chuck Wolfe, president and CEO of GLLI, said McFeeley’s extensive work with elected and appointed officials and his background in the LGBT movement will benefit the public leaders who look to the organization for its training and executive development programs. “Tim is one of the smartest and most respected people in his field, so we are thrilled to be able to rely on his expertise and deep commitment to serving the needs of LGBT leaders,” Wolfe said. McFeeley said his passion for helping develop the talent and leadership skills of public officials led him to join GLLI’s board. “This organization stands alone in addressing the unique career needs of openly gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender public leaders, and that’s something I want to be a part of. If we can help grow their skills, then the entire LGBT community is well served,” McFeeley said. McFeeley is a vice president and director of Isaacson, Miller, an executive search firm. From 2001 until 2008, he was the Executive Director of the Center for Policy Alternatives, a national, nonprofit leadership and policy resource for state legislators. He served as Executive Director of the Human Rights Campaign from 1989 until 1995, and practiced law in Boston for more than 18 years before that. McFeeley received his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and his J.D. from Harvard Law School. ------------------------ The Gay & Lesbian Leadership Institute ensures that openly LGBT public leaders are equipped with the skills they need to make a difference. Its nonpartisan training and executive development programs and networking opportunities are utilized by hundreds of elected, appointed, community and non-profit leaders each year. In 2008, GLLI will produce the 24th annual International Gay & Lesbian Leadership Conference, which will take place December 3-7, in Washington, D.C. For more information, go to www.glli.org. |
