Victory endorsee nominated by Pennsylvania governor

Mon, May 14th 2007, 16:06

Dan Anders, who was endorsed by the Victory Fund in his race to become a judge of the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas, has been nominated by Gov. Ed Rendell to fill a separate vacancy on that court.  Anders announced Thursday he will accept the nomination and suspend his current campaign, though he will be required to stand for election again in 2009.  Anders’ campaign manager, Jeff Scott, in a note to supporters, said, “Because of all of your help and hard work, Governor Rendell has decided to nominate Dan to fill a vacancy on the Court of Common Pleas.  Dan was nominated because of the energetic campaign that we ran from day one.”

"I am honored and humbled to receive this nomination from Governor Rendell," said Anders.  "It will be an opportunity to serve the people of Philadelphia in a significant way and to assist in the delivery of justice in our courts."
